AIRFRYER DAUPHINOISE POTATOES RECIPE

AIRFRYER DAUPHINOISE POTATOES RECIPE

Free up space in your oven this Christmas by making this delicious Potato Dauphinoise in the airfryer. The ultimate festive side dish!

Airfryer dauphinoise potatoes, golden brown and presented in a round over proof dish, garnished with fresh parsley.

We often focus on the big food items for Christmas like turkey, ham, beef etc. But in my opinion side dishes are the real heroes of festive meals. Get a couple of really delicious side dishes on the table and it can elevate your Christmas dinner to another level!

Potato Dauphinoise is a favourite of mine but until now I’ve rarely made it at Christmas as there just isn’t enough space in the oven for everything. So I decided to try it in the airfryer instead and wow! It was incredible!

WHICH AIR FRYER IS THE BEST?

There’s so many different air fryers out there on the market at the moment. Some of the big brand names are expensive but I have been using this Uten 6.5 Litre Air Fryer since last year and I love it.

It’s really big, perfect for family sized meals and fits a whole chicken too!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 35 minutes

Yield: 4

INGREDIENTS:

800g potatoes

200ml milk

150ml single cream

pinch of nutmeg

salt and pepper to taste

4 garlic cloves, chopped

60g grated gruyere cheese

optional: chopped fresh parsley

INSTRUCTIONS:

Peel the potatoes and slice them into approximately ½ cm thick pieces.

Add the milk, cream, nutmeg and salt and pepper to a jug and mix with a spoon.

Add a layer of potatoes to the bottom of an oven proof dish along with some of the garlic. Pour over a little of the cream mixture.

Repeat these layers until you have used up all the ingredients.

Add the dish to the airfryer and cook at 200c for 30 minutes.

Stop the airfryer two or three times during the cooking process to mix the potatoes around. This stops the potatoes from burning. You could also add a layer of tinfoil to the top instead.

After 30 minutes add the grated gruyere to the top and return to the airfryer for a final 5 minutes.

Be careful removing the dish from the airfryer as it will be really hot.

Top with chopped parsley and serve immediately.
