How To Make Sloppy Joe Grilled Burritos
Brown ground beef in a skillet, add in the chopped green peppers and chopped red peppers, onions and salt and pepper. Drain excess fat from pan
In a small bowl combine the ketchup, Worcestershire Sauce, onion powder and brown sugar. Stir well
Add to the pan with the ground beef and stir to combine
In a saucepan add the shredded cheese, milk and butter and melt together over low heat
Add 3 tbsp oil to a clean skillet and heat on medium
Lay out the large tortillas and place a large spoon of sloppy joe mix in the center. Add a good spoonful of cheese sauce on top of the beef mix. Roll the tortilla into a burrito
When oil is hot, fry each burrito for approximately 1 to 2 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set on paper towel covered plate to drain
Sprinkle with additional shredded Cheddar cheese
Serving Suggestions:
Serve with a side of salsa, guacamole, or sour cream for dipping.
Garnish with fresh cilantro, lime wedges, or jalapeños for an extra burst of flavor.
Notes:
To make the burritos easier to grill, ensure the filling is not too wet; this helps prevent the tortillas from becoming soggy.
You can prepare the sloppy joe filling ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, making assembly and grilling quick and convenient.
For a healthier version, consider using ground turkey or chicken instead of beef, and whole wheat tortillas.
Tips:
Be sure to wrap the burritos tightly to prevent the filling from spilling out during grilling.
Use a panini press or a heavy skillet to achieve even grilling and a nice, crispy texture on the tortillas.
These Loppy Joe Grilled Burritos combine the comforting flavors of sloppy joes with the convenience and deliciousness of burritos, making them a unique and crowd-pleasing dish.
