Instructions

1. Cook the Beef

Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.

Saute onion 2–3 minutes until soft.

Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.

Add ground beef, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Cook 6–8 minutes, breaking up beef, until browned.

Stir in tomato paste and water; simmer 2 minutes until juicy but not wet. Remove from heat.

2. Fill the Tacos

Place tortillas flat.

Spoon beef onto one half of each tortilla.

Sprinkle a little cheese over the beef (this helps seal and crisp).

3. Crisp the Tacos

Pan-Fried (Best Crunch):

Fold tortillas over filling.

Cook in a lightly oiled skillet over medium heat 2–3 minutes per side until golden and crisp.

Oven-Baked:

Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

Arrange tacos on a baking tray, brush lightly with oil.

Bake 12–15 minutes, flipping once.

4. Serve

Open slightly and fill with fresh toppings.

Serve hot with lime wedges.

Notes & Tips

Don’t overfill tacos—they crisp better when slim.

Corn tortillas give the best crunch; warm them slightly before folding.

For extra crispiness, cook tacos pressed gently with a spatula.

Keep cooked tacos warm in a low oven while finishing batches.
