Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp
Crispy breaded shrimp are air-fried to perfection and then combined with a creamy, spicy sauce made from chilies to create Air Fryer Bang Bang Shrimp. This tasty and simple snack is ideal for a game day get-together.
The crispy shrimp covered in a hot sauce is a favorite among everybody. While air fryers are healthier than deep fryers, they nevertheless have the same incredible flavor and texture.
Serve as the ideal party appetizer or as a main course with pasta and rice. In any case, it’s a fantastic recipe that gets excellent feedback all the time.

Ingredients:
- ½ cup cornstarch ▢
- 1 pound large raw shrimp that have been skinned, deveined, and their tails removed
- ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
- ½ cup buttermilk
- chives chopped, optional garnish
Bang Bang Sauce
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tablespoons sriracha sauce
- ¼ cup sweet chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon honey Juice extracted from half a lime
Instructions:
- Fill a mixing dish with all the ingredients for the bang bang sauce. Mix until well blended. Put aside.
- Heat up the air fryer to 375°F. Use an oil sprayer to mist the air fryer basket.
- To a bowl, add the cornstarch. Put another bowl with the buttermilk in it. Spoon the panko breadcrumbs into a separate basin.
- Put one shrimp into the bowl of cornstarch and toss to coat. After that, throw the shrimp in the buttermilk to coat them. After that, submerge the shrimp in the panko breadcrumbs and coat them completely. Continue with the remaining shrimp.
- Place the shrimp in the basket of the air fryer. Verify that the shrimp are not in contact with one another. You might have to prepare several batches.
- Apply oil spray to the shrimp. Five minutes of air fry time. After taking the shrimp out of the air fryer, place it in a mixing dish.
- Add a quarter of the sauce to the shrimp and toss. When the shrimp is ready to be served, save the remaining bang bang sauce to drizzle over.
- Add the leftover bang bang sauce and fresh chives to the shrimp plate.
TIPS & TRICKS:
- Take care not to pack your air fryer too full. Depending on how big your air fryer is, you might have to cook in batches. There should be no contact between the shrimp and the air fryer basket.
- Use of aerosol cooking spray in your air fryer is not advised. You might harm the finish. I use a high-heat oil, such as grape seed oil, in an oil sprayer.
- Depending on the brand and type of your air fryer, cooking times can change. To find out how long it takes your air fryer to cook the recipe, keep an eye on the shrimp.
- Be cautious not to overfill your air fryer. You may need to cook in batches depending on the size of your air fryer. The shrimp and the air fryer basket shouldn’t come into touch.
