Just apples and cocoa No sugar

This simple, sugar-free chocolate apple cake is made with just a handful of wholesome ingredients — sweet apples, eggs, cocoa powder, and a touch of baking powder. Naturally sweetened by the apples, it’s moist, fudgy, and guilt-free. Perfect for anyone looking to lose weight or eat clean without giving up dessert!

Time:

Prep time: 10 minutes

Cook time: 35–40 minutes

Total time: 45–50 minutes

Servings: 6–8 slices

Ingredients:

4 medium sweet apples (Fuji, Honeycrisp, or Gala)

4 large eggs

5 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

Olive oil, for greasing the mold

Instructions:

Preheat the oven:

Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Grease a small cake pan or loaf pan lightly with olive oil.

Prepare the apples:

Peel, core, and roughly chop the apples. Blend them into a smooth puree using a blender or food processor. You can leave a few tiny chunks if you like some texture.

Mix wet ingredients:

In a large bowl, whisk the eggs. Add the apple puree and mix until smooth.

Add dry ingredients:

Sift in the cocoa powder and baking powder. Stir well until the batter is uniform and glossy. It will be slightly thick.

Bake:

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool and serve:

Let it cool for 10 minutes before removing from the pan. Slice and enjoy warm or chilled!

Notes & Tips

The sweetness depends on the apples — the sweeter they are, the better the flavor!

For extra richness, add a pinch of cinnamon or vanilla extract.

Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. It tastes even better the next day!

Optional: Top with a spoonful of Greek yogurt or crushed nuts for added protein and crunch.
