Air Fryer Pierogies

Pirogies made in an air fryer are without a doubt one of the dishes that we are asked to prepare the most often. Potatoes and cheese are the ingredients that go into the creation of these pillow-like delights, which may be consumed as a tasty snack, side dish, or meal on their own.

WHAT EXACTLY ARE A PIEROGY?
The European dumpling known as pierogi is a tiny pillow-shaped dumpling that may be filled with either a sweet or a savoury filling before being subjected to cooking. I couldn’t contain my excitement when I discovered these delicious dumplings in the frozen food area of my neighbourhood grocery store. I couldn’t wait to give them a go in the air fryer.

It was just potatoes and cheese that were included in the pierogies that I discovered, but that was more than enough flavour. Although they are sold frozen, they are also available packed with a variety of additional ingredients, including meat, cheddar, sauerkraut, and onion, to mention a few. When I use the air fryer, the Kasia brand crisps up so wonderfully that I can’t get enough of it.

Despite the fact that you may create this recipe from scratch, I chose to utilise frozen pierogies that had previously been cooked in order to maintain this dish as a simple lunch or snack. Furthermore, you will want an air fryer in addition to the pierogies, as well as about one tablespoon of olive oil.

INGREDIENTS

  • 14 ounces pierogi frozen
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Optional: Sour cream, caramelized onions, mushrooms, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Instructions:

  1. Place each item to the side in the basket of the air fryer in an even manner. While they are being air-fried, you should make an effort to prevent them from overlapping or stacking so that they can cook more evenly.
  2. Make sure that all sides of each item are coated by using cooking oil spray, brushing olive oil, or tossing the ingredients.
  3. After being gently coated with olive oil, they should be cooked at a temperature of 400 degrees Fahrenheit for ten to twelve minutes, or until they have a golden and crispy texture. In the middle of the cooking process, flip them over.
  4. Place on a heated platter and serve with sour cream, onions, mushrooms, or any other toppings of your choosing.
