Cucumber “Bang” (Spicy Zesty Snack)

 Ingredients

  • 3–4 mini cucumbers (or 2 large), sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (or lemon juice)
  • 1–2 tsp chili oil (or chili flakes 🌶️)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • ½ tsp sugar or honey (optional)
  • ½ tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sesame seeds
  • Optional: fresh dill or cilantro

 Instructions

1. Prep cucumbers

  • Slice cucumbers into rounds (or smash them lightly for more texture)

2. Make the “bang” sauce

In a bowl, mix:

  • Garlic
  • Soy sauce
  • Vinegar
  • Chili oil
  • Sesame oil
  • Sugar, salt, and pepper

3. Toss & marinate

  1. Pour sauce over cucumbers
  2. Toss well to coat evenly
  3. Let sit for 10–15 minutes (or longer for stronger flavor)

4. Finish

  • Sprinkle sesame seeds and herbs on top
  • Serve chilled or at room temp

 Tips

  • The longer it sits, the more flavorful it gets
  • Smash cucumbers slightly for better sauce absorption
  • Keep it in the fridge for a super refreshing snack
