Air Fryer Baked Apples

Air Fryer Baked Apples

Two genius tips are used in this recipe for Air Fryer Baked Apples to create a luscious, juicy baked apple that pairs amazingly well with vanilla ice cream. Simply put an apple, cinnamon, and oat mixture inside halved apples, then air fried for fifteen minutes.

Components: 1 big apple Filling

A tablespoon of melted butter, three tablespoons of light or golden brown sugar, one pinch of optional freshly grated nutmeg, one pinch of salt, and two tablespoons of old-fashioned oats
In order to assistSalted caramel sauce, vanilla ice cream, and whipped cream

Guidelines
Prepare the apple
After cleaning, pat dry, and cut in half the apple.

Expert advice: Look for apples with softer edges. You don’t want them to fall over in the air fryer, therefore this helps it stand upright when placed in the basket.
Make a cavity large enough to hold the filling by scooping out the core and some flesh using a large ice cream scoop, spoon, or pairing knife.
Measure out a scant ½ cup and chop only the scooped-out flesh to roughly ¼-inch dice (taking care to exclude any seeds or core).
Prepare the filling.
Melted butter, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt should all be thoroughly mixed. Add the diced apple and oats and stir.
Split the filling between the two sides of the apple.

Fry by air
Make sure the apple halves stay firmly on the grill plate after adding ½ cup water to the air fryer basket. Close the air fryer.
Preheat the air fryer to 350°F. Cook the apples for 12 to 15 minutes, or until they are softened but still retain their shape.

Advice: You should check after thirteen minutes. In just fifteen minutes, the apples were delightfully soft thanks to my Instant Vortex air fryer.
Before serving hot apples with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, open the air fryer and allow the apples cool for at least two minutes.

Remarks
Pour in ½ cup of water. I experimented with several water amounts to test the air fryer baked apples recipe, and I discovered that the ½ cup measurement worked perfectly. While adding more water will impact the cooking time, using less water could lead to excessive evaporation.
To make twice as much, just double the recipe for two large apples.

Cut the cooking time in half or three minutes if you’re using medium-sized apples.
