BBQ Grilled Prawns with Garlic, Lemon & Chilli Recipe

Ingredients:


From Your Pantry:

  1. ⅓ cup olive oil
  2. Salt & pepper to taste
  3. Your 5 Ingredients:
  4. 8 large prawns (shells on, vein removed)
  5. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  6. 1–2 chillies, sliced (adjust based on desired spice level)
  7. 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  8. 1 lemon, juice and zest

Optional:

  1. Fresh lemon wedges for serving
  2. Fresh crusty bread of your choice for dipping in the sauce

For the Barbecue:

Firelighters
Charcoal
Matches or lighter
Glass of water

Instructions


Prepare the Marinade:

In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, minced garlic, sliced chillies, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Stir in the chopped fresh parsley.
Marinate the Prawns:

Place the prawns in a bowl or a resealable plastic bag.
Pour the marinade over the prawns, ensuring they are well-coated.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to infuse.
Prepare the Barbecue:

Light the charcoal using firelighters and matches or a lighter, following the manufacturer’s instructions.
Allow the charcoal to burn until covered with white ash, which usually takes about 15-20 minutes.
Once ready, spread the charcoal evenly in the grill and adjust the heat to medium-high.
Grill the Prawns:

Remove the prawns from the marinade and thread them onto skewers if desired (this makes them easier to handle on the grill).
Place the prawns on the hot grill and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they are opaque and have nice grill marks.
Serve:

Transfer the grilled prawns to a serving platter.
