Honey Garlic Chicken


Ingredients:

  1. 8 chicken thighs (skinless and boneless)
  2. 2 tablespoons cornflour (cornstarch)
  3. ½ teaspoon salt
  4. ½ teaspoon pepper
  5. 2 tablespoons Olive oil
  6. 1 tablespoon unsalted butter(optional)
  7. 4 cloves garlic, minced
  8. 110 g (1/3 cup) honey
  9. 80 ml (1/3 cup) chicken stock
  10. 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  11. 1 tablespoon light soy sauce

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Chicken:

    In a large bowl, toss the chicken thighs with cornflour (cornstarch), salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
    Cook the Chicken:

  2. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    Add the chicken thighs and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Sauce:

  1. In the same skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
    Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
    Stir in the honey, chicken stock, rice vinegar, and light soy sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer.

Combine Chicken and Sauce:

  1. Return the chicken thighs to the skillet, and coat them with the sauce.
    Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly and the chicken is well-coated.
    Serve:

  2. Transfer the chicken to a serving plate and spoon extra sauce over the top.
  3. Serve hot with your choice of sides.
