Honey Garlic Chicken
Ingredients:
- 8 chicken thighs (skinless and boneless)
- 2 tablespoons cornflour (cornstarch)
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter(optional)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 110 g (1/3 cup) honey
- 80 ml (1/3 cup) chicken stock
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
Instructions:
- Prepare the Chicken:
In a large bowl, toss the chicken thighs with cornflour (cornstarch), salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
Cook the Chicken: - Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the chicken thighs and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
Make the Sauce:
- In the same skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat.
Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in the honey, chicken stock, rice vinegar, and light soy sauce. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
Combine Chicken and Sauce:
- Return the chicken thighs to the skillet, and coat them with the sauce.
Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly and the chicken is well-coated.
Serve: - Transfer the chicken to a serving plate and spoon extra sauce over the top.
