Crab-Stuffed Mushrooms

These crab-stuffed mushrooms are an irresistible appetizer featuring tender mushroom caps filled with a creamy, flavorful crab mixture. The combination of lump crab meat, cream cheese, Parmesan, and Old Bay seasoning creates a rich, savory bite with a crispy, golden-brown topping. Perfect for parties, special occasions, or a gourmet snack!

Ingredients

16 large white or cremini mushrooms

1 cup lump crab meat (fresh or canned, drained)

½ cup cream cheese (softened)

¼ cup mayonnaise

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese

¼ cup breadcrumbs (Panko or regular)

1 small shallot (minced) or 2 tbsp minced onion

2 cloves garlic (minced)

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

1 tsp Dijon mustard

½ tsp Old Bay seasoning (or Cajun seasoning)

1 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 tbsp melted cheese

Salt & black pepper to taste

Extra Parmesan and breadcrumbs for topping

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Prepare the mushrooms: Remove the stems and gently scoop out some of the insides to create space for the filling. Place them on the baking sheet.

3. Saute aromatics: In a small pan, heat a bit of butter or oil over medium heat. Saute the shallots (or onions) and garlic until soft, about 2 minutes.

4. Make the filling: In a bowl, mix crab meat, cream cheese, mayonnaise, Parmesan, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, Old Bay seasoning, lemon juice, and sauteed shallots/garlic. Stir until well combined.

5. Stuff the mushrooms: Spoon the crab mixture into each mushroom cap, mounding slightly.

6. Top & bake: Sprinkle extra breadcrumbs and Parmesan on top. Drizzle with melted butter. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until golden brown.

7. Garnish & serve: Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve warm.
