Description:
French Dip Sliders are mini sandwiches packed with thinly sliced roast beef, melted provolone cheese, and caramelized onions on soft slider rolls, served with a rich au jus dipping sauce. They’re perfect for game day, parties, or a comforting dinner.
Ingredients:
For the sliders:
12 slider rolls or Hawaiian rolls
1 lb thinly sliced roast beef (deli or homemade)
12 slices provolone cheese
1 large onion, thinly sliced
2 tbsp unsalted olive oil (for onions)
2 tbsp mayonnaise (optional)
2 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional)
For the au jus:
2 cups beef broth (low sodium preferred)
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp soy sauce
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
For topping:
3 tbsp olive oil melted
1 tsp dried parsley
½ tsp garlic powder
Instructions:
1. Preheat oven:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Caramelize onions:
In a skillet, melt 2 tbsp butter over medium heat.
Add sliced onions and a pinch of salt.
Cook for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and soft.
3. Make au jus:
In a saucepan, combine beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Simmer for 10 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Keep warm.
4. Assemble sliders:
Slice the slider rolls in half (keeping them attached if possible).
Place the bottom half in a greased 9×13″ baking dish.
Layer with roast beef, caramelized onions, and provolone cheese.
Spread Dijon mustard and mayo on the top half of rolls (optional).
Place the top half of the buns over the cheese layer.
5. Add butter topping:
Mix melted butter with parsley and garlic powder.
Brush over the tops of the sliders.
6. Bake:
Cover with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
Uncover and bake for an additional 5–10 minutes, until tops are golden and cheese is melted.
7. Serve:
Cut into individual sliders and serve with warm au jus for dipping.
