⏱️ Time Overview

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 8–10 minutes

Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

 For the Broccolini:

1 bunch (about 8 oz / 225g) broccolini

1–2 tbsp olive oil

Salt, to taste

For the Tahini Sauce:

3 tbsp tahini

1 tbsp lemon juice

1 clove garlic, minced

2–3 tbsp warm water (to thin)

Salt, to taste

For the Aleppo Chili Oil:

3 tbsp olive oil

1–2 tsp Aleppo chili flakes (adjust to taste)

Pinch of smoked paprika (optional)

Pinch of salt

Instructions

1. Prepare the Aleppo Chili Oil

In a small saucepan or skillet, warm olive oil over low heat.

Add Aleppo chili flakes, smoked paprika (if using), and salt.

Heat gently for 2–3 minutes to infuse flavors, being careful not to burn the spices.

Remove from heat and set aside.

2. Char the Broccolini

Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat.

Toss broccolini with olive oil and salt.

Cook, turning occasionally, until broccolini is tender and charred in spots, about 6–8 minutes.

Alternatively, you can grill broccolini on a grill or broil in the oven.

3. Make the Tahini Sauce

Whisk tahini, lemon juice, garlic, salt, and warm water until smooth and creamy.

Adjust thickness by adding more water, one teaspoon at a time.

4. Assemble & Serve

Arrange charred broccolini on a serving plate.

Drizzle tahini sauce over the top.

Finish with a generous drizzle of Aleppo chili oil.

Optional: sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds or fresh herbs.

Notes

Aleppo chili flakes add a mild, fruity heat. Substitute with crushed red pepper flakes if unavailable.

Broccolini can be substituted with tender broccoli or broccolini stalks for a similar effect.

For a nutty twist, add a sprinkle of toasted pine nuts or chopped pistachios.

Tips

Don’t overcrowd the pan when charring broccolini — give them space for even searing.

Make Aleppo chili oil in advance — it keeps well in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Use freshly squeezed lemon juice for the best flavor in tahini sauce.
