Ingredients
For the Fish
1 lb (450g) white fish (cod, tilapia, halibut, or snapper)
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp cumin
½ tsp dried oregano
Salt and black pepper, to taste
Juice of ½ lime
For the Taco Fillings
6 small tortillas (corn or gluten-free if preferred)
1 cup shredded cabbages (or lettuce)
½ cup diced cucumber
½ cup diced tomatoes
¼ cup red onion, finely sliced
Fresh parsley or cilantro for garnish
For the Sriracha-Lime Sauce
½ cup Greek yogurt or mayonnaise (or a mix of both)
1–1½ tsp sriracha (adjust to spice level)
1 tbsp lime juice
½ tsp honey (optional, to balance spice)
1 garlic clove, minced
Pinch of salt
Instructions
1. Prepare the Fish Marinade
Pat the fish dry with paper towels.
In a bowl, mix olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, cumin, oregano, salt, pepper, and lime juice.
Rub this mixture all over the fish. Let it sit for 10–15 minutes while you prep the sauce and veggies.
2. Make the Sriracha-Lime Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together Greek yogurt (or mayo), sriracha, lime juice, honey, garlic, and salt.
Taste and adjust spice or tang as you like. Chill until ready to use.
3. Cook the Fish
Heat a non-stick pan or grill over medium-high heat.
Cook fish for 3–4 minutes per side, until golden and flaky.
Break into large chunks using a fork.
4. Warm the Tortillas
Heat tortillas in a dry skillet or directly over the flame for a few seconds per side until warm and pliable.
5. Assemble the Tacos
Add a base of shredded cabbage, cucumber, and tomato.
Top with chunks of the zesty fish.
Drizzle generously with the sriracha-lime sauce.
Finish with fresh herbs and a squeeze of lime.
Tips
For an extra Mediterranean twist, add crumbled feta or tzatziki drizzle on top.
Use lettuce wraps instead of tortillas for a lighter, low-carb version.
If baking instead of pan-frying, cook fish at 400°F (200°C) for 10–12 minutes.
