⏱️ Time
-
Prep: 10 minutes
-
Cook: 20 minutes (5 min microwave + 12–15 min air fryer)
-
Total: ~30 minutes
Ingredients
-
2 medium sweet potatoes (similar size)
-
1 tbsp olive oil
-
½ tsp sea salt
-
½ tsp cinnamon
-
1 tsp coconut sugar or brown sugar (optional but recommended)
-
1 tbsp butter (for topping)
-
1 tsp honey or maple syrup (for drizzle)
Instructions:
-
Prep the Potatoes:
Wash and dry sweet potatoes well. Slice crosswise into thin, even cuts about ⅛ inch apart—but don’t slice all the way through (stop about ¼ inch from the bottom). -
Season:
In a small bowl, mix olive oil, salt, cinnamon, and sugar. Brush mixture generously over and between the slices. -
Microwave:
Place potatoes on a microwave-safe plate and microwave for about 5 minutes, or until fork-tender but still holding shape. -
Air Fry:
Transfer to the air fryer basket. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes, until the edges bloom open and caramelize beautifully. -
Finish:
While hot, add a dab of butter and drizzle with honey. Let it melt into the crevices—pure magic!
Tips:
Use smaller sweet potatoes so they cook evenly and bloom better.
Want extra crisp edges? Brush a tiny bit more oil halfway through air-frying.
For a savory twist, skip the cinnamon sugar and season with smoked paprika, garlic powder, and salt instead.
You can also bake in the oven at 425°F (220°C) for 25–30 minutes if you don’t have an air fryer.
