Ingredients

Greek Meatballs

500 g (1 lb) ground beef or lamb (or half beef, half turkey)

1 egg

¼ cup breadcrumbs or oat crumbs

2 tbsp milk or water

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tsp dried oregano

½ tsp ground cumin

Salt & black pepper, to taste

1 tbsp olive oil

Lemon Potatoes

700 g (1½ lb) baby potatoes, halved

3 tbsp olive oil

Zest of 1 lemon

Juice of 1 large lemon

3 cloves garlic, smashed

1 tsp dried oregano

Salt & black pepper, to taste

For Serving 

Tzatziki or Greek yogurt

Fresh parsley or dill

Simple cucumber-tomato salad

Instructions

Preheat the Oven

Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F).

Line or lightly oil a large baking pan.

Prepare the Lemon Potatoes

In a bowl, toss potatoes with olive oil, lemon zest, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, salt, and pepper.

Spread evenly in the pan and roast for 15 minutes.

Make the Meatballs

In a large bowl, combine ground meat, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, garlic, parsley, oregano, cumin (if using), salt, pepper, and olive oil.

Mix gently and shape into golf-ball-size meatballs.

Add Meatballs to Pan

Remove pan from oven, turn potatoes slightly.

Nestle meatballs among potatoes.

Roast Until Golden

Return to oven and bake for 25–30 minutes, turning meatballs once, until cooked through and lightly browned.
