Air Fryer Apple Hand Pies Recipe:

These Air Fryer Apple Hand Pies are portable and delicious! With an easy apple pie filling and flaky crust, they’re such a fun Fall dessert with no slicing and little mess.

Ingredients:

  1. Pie crust from Pillsbury
  2. Two to three apples, cut, peeled, and cored
  3. Three to four tablespoons of brown sugar
  4. 1 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
  5. One teaspoon vanilla extract
  6. One teaspoon cornflour
  7. One teaspoon of water
  8. One egg
  9. One tablespoon of sugar

Instructions:

  1. Pie crusts should be unrolled on a flat surface or chopping board.
  2. Depending on how many pies you wish to create, prepare six tiny round crusts or more. Put aside.
  3. In a sauce pan, combine diced apples, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla essence. Simmer apples for three to four minutes over medium heat. Add a tsp cornstarch mix with a tsp of water into the pan to thicken the natural juice of the apples. Mix well and turn the heat off.
  4. Scoop apples on the centre of the pie crust then top.
  5. Arrange in the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper and cook at 350 F preheated air fryer for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown. Flip halfway through. Air fryer does vary so adjust time or temp if needed.

Sprinkle with powdered sugar on top and enjoy!

tips:

If the apple slices in the canned pie filling are large, just cut them in half before filling the mini pies. Other fruit pie fillings work equally well in this recipe.
