AIR FRYER CALAMARI

Culinary adventures abound when you try air fryer calamari. It’s the ideal way to experience this beloved seafood dish in a whole new way—it’s crispy and tasty.

Tender and crunchy textures are expertly combined in air-fried calamari. A simple yet delectable homemade appetiser, air-fried calamari is perfect for entertaining or for anyone who loves seafood.

COMPOSITION

  1. One pound of patted-dry calamari rings
  2. one squeezed lemon (three tablespoons of lemon juice)
  3. ½ cup flour for all purposes
  4. one tsp powdered garlic
  5. ¼ cup milk and two egg whites
  6. Two cups breadcrumbs (panko)
  7. One and a half tsp kosher salt
  8. One-and-a-half teaspoons of ground pepper

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. After adding lemon juice to a bowl, place the squid rings and let them marinate for at least half an hour. Using a colander, drain.
  2. In a shallow basin, combine the flour and garlic powder. In a another bowl, whisk together the egg whites and milk. In a third bowl, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper.
  3. Coat the calamari rings in three different ways: flour, egg mixture, and panko breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Set the temperature of your air fryer to 400°F.
  5. Make sure that no two rings overlap when placing them in the air fryer’s basket. Work in groups if necessary. Apply nonstick cooking spray to the tops.
  6. Simmer for four minutes. Once the rings are fully cooked and opaque within, flip them over, spritz them with a little oil, and continue cooking for a further 3 minutes (7 minutes total).

NOTES;

 CALAMARI REHEATER IN THE AIR FRYER:

  • Set your air fryer’s temperature to 400 degrees.
  • Cook the calamari rings in the basket for five minutes, or until they are well heated.

HOW TO USE AN AIR FRYER TO MAKE FROZEN CARAMARI:

  • Set your air fryer’s temperature to 400 degrees.
  • Put the frozen calamari rings in the air fryer and heat them through, turning them over approximately halfway through, for ten minutes.
