AIR FRYER CAPRESE CHICKEN RECIPE

This Air Fryer Caprese Chicken recipe consists of a Hasselback-style sliced chicken breast packed with cheese, fresh tomato, and pesto. A rush of savoury flavour bursts in every bite, making you forget everything about boring old chicken dinners. Made in less than 15 minutes in the air fryer, I adore how the exterior caramelises wonderfully while the inside becomes delicate and juicy.

INGREDIENTS FOR AIR FRYER CAPRESE CHICKEN

  1. Two breasts of chicken Skinless, boneless chicken breasts that are roughly one inch thick
  2. ½ cup pesto
  3. Half a cup of tomatoes roughly ten freshly cut, halved tomato slices
  4. 8 ounces of fresh mozzarella Five half-slices of mozzarella cheese, for ten total
  5. To taste, add ½ teaspoon each of salt and pepper.
  6. One-half teaspoon of Italian spice
  7. One-half teaspoon of powdered garlic

INSTRUCTIONS FOR AIR FRYER CAPRESE CHICKEN

  1. Prepare the Chicken Breast: Skinless and boneless chicken breasts are required. About one inch in thickness. Using a sharp knife, carefully cut through the thickest part of the chicken breast to create a pocket in the chicken. Cut roughly five slits in each chicken piece. Don’t make a complete cut.
  2.  Mix the oil, pesto, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and salt & pepper to taste in a small bowl. Rub the seasoning mixture all over the chicken, including the interior of the slits, with your hands or a food basting brush.
  3. Add the cheese and tomato: Slice the cheese into ¼-inch pieces and the fresh tomatoes into thin slices, about 3 mm thick. Tomato slices and cheese should be inserted into the chicken pockets one after the other. If necessary, chop the tomato in half to fit.
  4. Heat up the air fryer to 375°F, or 190°C. After placing the chicken in the basket, heat it for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the chicken is thoroughly cooked. You are not required to

  • To guarantee consistent cooking, make sure the air fryer is preheated before adding the chicken.
  • Check the chicken breast’s internal temperature with a meat thermometer. When you remove it from the air fryer, it should be 165°F.
  • To make this dish suit your tastes, you can substitute any kind of cheese for the mozzarella.
