Air fryer triple-cheese balls
Amira Georgy, the knowledgeable Digital Food Director at taste.com.au, was given the mission of putting the Philips air fryer to the test by making some triple cheese balls. What was the outcome? These golden, crispy, and naturally cheesy balls eliminate the need for deep frying and are much simpler to prepare and clean up after.
Ingredients:
- 85g (1/3 cup) of grated parmesan cheese
- 70g (1 cup) of grated cheddar cheese
- cottage cheese 75g, or half a cup lard
- Two teaspoons Cajun spice
- Two lightly whisked eggs
- Olive oil spray
- Pasta sauce, warmed, to serve
Instructions:
- In a a large bowl, gently mix together 80g (1 cup) grated cheddar cheese, 70g (1 cup) grated parmesan cheese, 85g (1/3 cup) cottage cheese, 75g (1/2 cup) plain flour, 2 tsp Cajun seasoning, and 2 eggs. Mix with your hands until thoroughly blended. Form the mixture into 1 1/2 tablespoon sized balls. The mixture should firm up slightly after an hour in the refrigerator.
- Apply olive oil spray to the balls; you might need to slightly reroll them. Arrange the balls in the air fryer basket, spacing them 3 cm apart. Simmer for ten to twelve minutes at 180°C, or until thoroughly cooked and browned.

This recipe needs to be refrigerated for one hour.
You might have to cook the balls in batches if your air fryer is small.
