With minimal prep and simple ingredients, the scallops remain tender and juicy while absorbing the rich flavors of butter, garlic, lemon, and Parmesan.

Cooking Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

 Ingredients

1 lb sea scallops (patted dry)

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon paprika (optional, for color)

½ teaspoon lemon zest

2 tablespoons lemon juice (freshly squeezed)

¼ cup Parmesan cheese, grated

¼ cup breadcrumbs (Panko for extra crispiness)

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon wedges, for servings

 Instructions

1. Preheat & Prepare

Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

Lightly grease a baking dish or cast-iron skillet with butter or olive oil.

2. Season the Scallops

Pat the scallops dry with paper towels to help them bake evenly.

Place them in a single layer in the baking dish.

3. Prepare the Garlic Mixture

In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, salt, pepper, paprika, lemon zest, and lemon juice.

Drizzle this mixture evenly over the scallops.

4. Add the Topping

In another bowl, mix Parmesan cheese and breadcrumbs.

Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the scallops.

5. Bake the Scallops

Bake uncovered for 12–15 minutes, until the scallops are opaque and slightly firm.

If desired, broil for 1–2 minutes at the end for a crispy golden topping.

6. Serve & Garnish

Remove from the oven and garnish with chopped parsley.

Serve hot with lemon wedges on the side.
