Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 25 minutes

Servings: 4-6

Ingredients:

  1. 4 cups cubed bread (stale or slightly dried out)
  2. 3 large eggs
  3. 1 cup milk
  4. 1/2 cup heavy cream
  5. 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  6. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  7. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  8. 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  9. 1/2 cup raisins or chocolate chips (optional)
  10. Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Air Fryer:
    • Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Prepare Bread Cubes:
    • Cut the bread into bite-sized cubes. If the bread is fresh, you can leave it out for a bit to allow it to dry slightly.
  3. Make the Custard Mixture:
    • In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, heavy cream, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg until well combined.
  4. Combine Bread and Custard:
    • Place the bread cubes in the custard mixture, making sure they are well-coated. Let it sit for about 5-10 minutes to allow the bread to absorb the liquid.
  5. Add Optional Ingredients:
    • If desired, fold in raisins or chocolate chips into the bread mixture.
  6. Grease the Air Fryer Basket:
    • Lightly grease the air fryer basket to prevent sticking.
  7. Transfer to Air Fryer Basket:
    • Transfer the bread and custard mixture into the air fryer basket, spreading it evenly.
  8. Air Fry:
    • Air fry at 350°F (180°C) for 20 minutes, or until the bread pudding is set and golden brown on top.
  9. Check for Doneness:
    • Insert a toothpick into the center; if it comes out clean, the bread pudding is done.
  10. Cool and Serve:
    • Allow the bread pudding to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
  11. Dust with Powdered Sugar (Optional):
    • If desired, dust the top of the bread pudding with powdered sugar before serving.
  12. Serve Warm:
    • Serve the air fryer bread pudding warm on its own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
  13. Enjoy!
    • Enjoy this quick and delicious bread pudding made in the air fryer.
