▢8-10 chicken legs
▢1 teaspoon kosher salt
▢1/2 teaspoon coarse ground black pepper
▢2 tablespoons vegetable oil
▢1/3 cup low sodium soy sauce
▢2 tablespoons ketchup
▢1/2 cup brown sugar , packed
▢1 teaspoon garlic powder , or 4 cloves garlic, minced

◾Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9×13 baking pan with vegetable oil spray.
◾Season the chicken with salt and pepper.
◾In a large bowl, combine oil, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, and garlic powder.
◾Toss the chicken with the sauce and arrange the legs in the baking dish.
◾Pour the remaining sauce over the chicken pieces.
◾Bake for 35-40 minutes, until caramelized.

Chicken: You can use bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs, breasts, or wings, or try it with boneless chicken. This sauce also makes an excellent grilling glaze, so try it on pork chops, steaks, or eggplant this summer!
Wrap each chicken drumstick in a slice of bacon before baking for an extra-delicious meal! If you’re using boneless, skinless chicken, bacon can also help to keep it moist.
Honey: Honey is a popular alternative for brown sugar; who doesn’t enjoy Honey Garlic Chicken? You can also use molasses (half the amount), maple syrup, or white sugar instead.
Season the chicken with herbs and spices such as oregano, onion powder, thyme, and dried basil. In place of ketchup or soy sauce, use BBQ or Teriyaki sauce.
For a spicy, sweet garlic glaze, add ¼ teaspoon of cayenne pepper, crushed red pepper flakes, or hot sauce. Increase in small quantities until you reach the desired spicy level.
Slow Cooker Brown Sugar and Garlic Chicken Legs
◾In the crockpot, mix all of the sauce ingredients and whisk until smooth.
◾Season the chicken with salt and pepper before adding it to the sauce, tossing it a few times until coated.
◾Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 5-6 hours or high for 2-3 hours, flipping halfway through to coat the chicken.
◾For crispy skin, broil cooked chicken for 3-5 minutes, or until golden and crunchy.
Instant Pot Garlic Brown Sugar Chicken Legs.
◾In the bottom of the Instant Pot, combine the vegetable oil, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, and garlic powder.
◾Place the chicken legs in the sauce and spin a few times to coat them.
◾Secure the lid and seal the pressure valve. Set Instant Pot to Manual High.
◾Naturally release pressure for 5 minutes, then quickly release the remaining pressure.
◾Place chicken on a baking pan and broil until golden and crispy.
