🧾 Ingredients

  • 4–5 medium potatoes (thinly sliced or grated)
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2–3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup milk (or cream for richer taste)
  • 1½ cups shredded cheese (mozzarella, cheddar, or mix)
  • 2 tbsp butter or oil

Seasoning:

  • 1 tsp salt (or to taste)
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried herbs (parsley/oregano)
  • Optional: chili flakes

👨‍🍳 Instructions

  1. Preheat oven
    • 180°C (350°F)
  2. Prepare potatoes
    • Slice very thin (or grate for softer texture).
    • If sliced, you can parboil for 5 minutes (optional, speeds cooking).
  3. Make egg mixture
    • In a bowl, whisk eggs + milk + garlic + seasoning.
  4. Assemble
    • Grease a baking dish.
    • Layer potatoes and onions evenly.
    • Pour egg mixture over.
    • Top with shredded cheese.
  5. Bake
    • Bake for 40–50 minutes until golden and set in the center.
  6. Rest & serve
    • Let it sit 10 minutes before cutting (helps it hold shape).
