I’ll explain my go-to technique for making crispy chicken skin and how to make those very tasty, light, and crunchy chicken chips below!

One of my favourite treats is these crunchy chicken skin chips, often known as chicken cracklings! These are the things you’ll need to make them as tasty as possible, but you can season them anyway you like.

Ingredient For Chicken Skin Chips Air Fryer:

  1. One-half pound of chicken skin roughly eight pieces of skin, including any extra yellow fat from the chicken, were taken off the thigh or breast.
  2. Half a cup of water
  3. 1/2 tsp kosher salt and 1/2 tsp white pepper
  4. One-half teaspoon of garlic powder
  5. One-third teaspoon paprika
  6. ¼ teaspoon of cayenne

Instructions For Chicken Skin Chips Air Fryer:

  • Spread out the chicken skins in a single layer in the basket of your air fryer and lightly season with kosher salt. To keep the chicken skins flat, place a piece of parchment paper over them and place a level ceramic dish on top of them.
  • Take out and pat dry with a paper towel. Mix the paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. While still heated, sprinkle on chicken skin.

As an alternative, chop chicken skin into bite-sized pieces and add them to soups, pastas, and stir fries to provide extra crunch. To use over potatoes or veggies, strain the drained chicken fat into a glass or airtight container!

Instructions for the Air Fryer:

Storage: To use as a crunchy topping or paleo snack, store for two to three days in an airtight container or plastic ziplock bag!
