Cottage Cheese Chips Recipe
These crispy and high-protein cottage cheese chips are a great alternative to regular chips. They are easy to make, gluten-free, and packed with flavor!
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 30-40 minutes
Total Time: 35-45 minutes
Servings: 2-3
Ingredients:
1 cup (250g) cottage cheese (full-fat or low-fat)
¼ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
½ teaspoon paprika (optional)
1 tablespoon grated Parmesan (optional, for extra crispiness)
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Step 2: Blend the Cottage Cheese
For a smoother texture, blend the cottage cheese in a food processor or blender for 30-60 seconds until creamy. (You can skip this step if you prefer a more textured chip.)
Step 3: Season the Mixture
Mix the cottage cheese with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, paprika, and Parmesan (if using).
Step 4: Spread on the Baking Sheet
Using a spoon or spatula, spread small dollops (about 1-2 teaspoons each) of the mixture onto the lined baking sheet.
Flatten them as thinly as possible (about 1/8 inch thick) to ensure crispiness.
Step 5: Bake Until Crispy
Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until the chips are golden and crispy.
If they are still soft, bake for an additional 5-10 minutes while keeping an eye on them to prevent burning.
Step 6: Cool & Serve
Let the chips cool completely on the baking sheet before removing them.
They will crisp up further as they cool.
Serve as a snack or with dips like hummus, guacamole, or Greek yogurt dip.
Tips for the Best Cottage Cheese Chips:
Blend well for a smoother, more uniform texture.
Use full-fat cottage cheese for crispier chips.
Spread thinly to ensure even baking.
Store leftovers in an airtight container to maintain crispiness.
