Crispy air fried sweet potatoes

Crispy Air-Fried Sweet Potatoes

These Crispy Air-Fried Sweet Potatoes are perfectly golden and crunchy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside. They make a healthy and flavorful side dish or snack, packed with fiber, vitamins, and natural sweetness. Air frying gives them the same crispiness as deep-frying but with much less oil, making them a nutritious alternative to traditional fries or roasted potatoes.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and diced into ½-inch cubes

1 ½ tablespoons olive oil (or avocado oil)

½ teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon paprika (optional, for smokiness)

¼ teaspoon black pepper

¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)

1 teaspoon cornstarch (for extra crispiness, optional)

1 tablespoon fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Prep the Sweet Potatoes

Peel and dice sweet potatoes into ½-inch cubes for even cooking.

Place them in a bowl and toss with olive oil, salt, garlic powder, paprika, black pepper, cayenne (if using), and cornstarch.

2. Air Fry the Sweet Potatoes

Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C) for 3 minutes.

Spread sweet potatoes in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches if needed).

Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.

3. Serve & Enjoy

Garnish with fresh parsley or cilantro.

Serve as a side dish, in grain bowls, or with dipping sauces like garlic aioli, chipotle mayo, or ranch.

Notes & Tips

Extra Crispy Trick: Soak the diced sweet potatoes in water for 30 minutes, then pat dry before air frying. This removes excess starch and increases crispiness.

Customize the Flavor: Try different seasonings like cinnamon & honey for a sweet version or cumin & chili powder for a smoky taste.

Storage & Reheating: Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F for 3-4 minutes to crisp them up again.

Oil-Free Version: Omit oil and spray lightly with cooking spray for a lower-fat option.

Serving Ideas: Pair with grilled chicken, burgers, or toss them into salads or grain bowls.

Enjoy these crispy, flavorful air-fried sweet potatoes as a healthy and delicious side dish!
