Crispy Crab Appetizer

Indulge in the crunchy and flavorful goodness of our Crispy Crab Appetizer! This mouthwatering dish combines the sweetness of crab, the crunch of panko breadcrumbs, and the tanginess of remoulade sauce, all in one delicious and addictive bite.

Crunchy, savory crab bites

Ingredients:

  1. 1 pound fresh crab meat
  2.  3 slices of white bread, crust removed
  3.  1 egg beaten
  4.  1 tablespoon mayonnaise
  5. 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  6. 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  7.  1 tablespoon Old Bay Seasoning
  8. 1 tablespoon parsley
  9.  Olive oil for frying

Instructions:
1. Make breadcrumbs in food processor so they are chopped up fine.
2. In a large bowl, mix together egg, mayonnaise, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, and Old Bay seasoning.
3. Add breadcrumbs and crab meat and mix by hand to avoid breaking up too many of the lumps. You may need to break up the very large lumps however so the crab balls will stay together.
4. Shape into 24 balls.
5. Fry in batches in hot oil until golden brown, turning once.
6. Drain on paper towels.
7. Serve with your favorite sauce.

Tips:

1. Use fresh and high-quality crab meat: Fresh crab meat will give the best flavor and texture to the appetizer.
2. Don’t overmix the crab mixture: Mix the crab mixture just until the ingredients are combined to prevent a dense and tough texture.
3. Use the right type of breadcrumbs: Panko breadcrumbs will give the appetizer a light and crunchy texture.
4. Experiment with different seasonings: Try adding different seasonings like Old Bay or Cajun seasoning to give the appetizer a unique flavor.
5. Make ahead for a party: Prepare the crab mixture ahead of time and refrigerate or freeze until ready to fry for a stress-free party appetizer.
