Ingredients:
For the Flatbread Base:
2 medium flatbreads or naan
200g halloumi, sliced into 1 cm thick strips
1 tsp olive oil (for frying
For the Sweet & Spicy Sauce:
1½ tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 tsp sriracha or chili sauce (adjust to taste)
1 tsp soy sauce
1 garlic clove, minced
Juice of ½ lime
Toppings:
½ small red onion, thinly sliced
½ cucumber, julienned or thinly sliced
½ carrot, grated or matchstick-cut
Fresh cilantro or mint leaves (optional)
Chili flakes or jalapeño slices (optional)
Instructions:
1. Make the Sweet & Spicy Sauce
In a small bowl, mix:
Honey, sriracha, soy sauce, lime juice, and minced garlic.
Set aside to allow the flavors to infuse.
2. Cook the Halloumi
Heat olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Fry the halloumi slices for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy. Set aside.
3. Warm the Flatbread
In the same pan or directly over the flame for a few seconds, heat each flatbread until soft and lightly toasted.
4. Assemble
Lay out the flatbreads.
Add fried halloumi slices on each.
Top with sliced onion, cucumber, carrot, and herbs.
Drizzle generously with the sweet-spicy sauce.
Add chili flakes or jalapeños if desired.
5. Serve
Fold or roll flatbreads. Serve immediately!
