Ingredients:
1 ripe avocado
1 can of sardines in olive oil (or in tomato sauce, if preferred)
1 lemon (for juice + zest)
1 garlic clove (optional)
Cherry tomatoes, halved
Kalamata olives, sliced
Fresh parsley or basil
Red chili flakes (optional)
Sea salt & cracked black pepper
Crusty bread (sourdough or ciabatta, toasted)
Instructions:
Prepare the Avocado Spread:
Mash the avocado in a bowl.
Add a squeeze of lemon juice, salt, pepper, and optional red chili flakes.
Add minced garlic if you like a little punch.
Toast the Bread:
Lightly toast slices of sourdough or ciabatta until golden.
Assemble:
