Shrimp and Cabbage Stir Fry (Quick & Tasty)
Ingredients:
- 1 pound cabbage, sliced
- 1.5 cups raw shrimp, tail off, peeled, and deveined
- 2 tablespoons Olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon light soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- ¼ cup water
- ¼ cup Shaoxing cooking wine
- Salt and black pepper to taste
METHOD:
- Get the prawns and cabbage ready: After slicing the cabbage thinly, leave it aside. Verify that the prawns have had their tails cut off, skinned and deveined.
- Heat the oil: Place the cooking oil in a large pan or wok and heat it over medium-high heat.
- Cook the garlic: Add the minced garlic to the pan and cook it until it becomes fragrant, approximately 30 seconds.
- Add the shrimp: Add the shrimp to the pan and cook, turning periodically, for two to three minutes, or until the shrimp begin to turn pink. After taking the prawns out of the pan, put it aside.
- Cook the cabbage: Place the cut cabbage in the same skillet. Stir-fry the cabbage for three to four minutes, or until it begins to soften.
- Add liquids and sauces: Add the oyster sauce, water, Shaoxing cooking wine, and light soy sauce. Mix well to blend.
- Put the prawns back in the skillet and mix everything together. Season. To taste, add salt and black pepper for seasoning. Simmer for a further two to three minutes, or until the cabbage is soft and the prawns are cooked through.
- Turn off the heat and proceed to serve hot.
