Perfect for family dinners, parties, or game night.

Time

Prep: 15 minutes

Cook: 30 minutes

Total: 45 minutes

Serves: 6–8

Ingredients

For the Beef Layer

1 lb (450 g) ground beef (or ground turkey for lighter version)

1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade: 1 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp paprika, ½ tsp cumin, ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp onion powder, ¼ tsp oregano, salt to taste)

½ cup water

For the Bake Layers

6 large flour tortillas (burrito size)

5–6 tostada shells (or crispy corn tortillas)

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or Mexican blend)

1 cup nacho cheese sauce, warmed

1 cup sour cream

1 cup shredded lettuce

1 cup diced tomatoes

½ cup diced onions

Cooking spray or oil

Instructions

1. Cook the Beef

In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned, breaking it up with a spoon.

Drain excess fat.

Stir in taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 3–4 minutes until slightly thickened. Remove from heat.

2. Assemble the Bake

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

Lay 2–3 flour tortillas in the bottom so they overlap and hang over the sides (you’ll fold these over later).

Spread half of the beef evenly over the tortillas.

Drizzle half of the nacho cheese sauce over the beef.

Place a layer of tostada shells on top, breaking them if necessary to fit.

Spread sour cream over the tostadas.

Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese on top.

Repeat with remaining beef, nacho cheese, tostadas, sour cream, and cheddar.

3. Fold & Bake

Fold over the tortilla edges from the bottom layer toward the center to cover the filling.

If there are gaps, place an extra tortilla on top to seal.

Lightly spray the top with cooking oil for crispiness.

Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.

4. Add Fresh Toppings & Serve

Let bake cool slightly (about 5 minutes).

Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and onions (if using).

Slice into squares and serve hot.

Notes & Tips

For extra crunch, add a layer of crushed tortilla chips before baking.

You can make this vegetarian by replacing beef with seasoned black beans or plant-based crumbles.

Serve with hot sauce, guacamole, or salsa for dipping.
