Chicken fajitas are a delicious and easy-to-make Tex-Mex dish featuring marinated and seasoned chicken strips sautéed with colorful bell peppers and onions. Served in warm tortillas with toppings like sour cream, guacamole, salsa, and cheese, they make for a satisfying meal packed with flavor.
Ingredients
For the Chicken Marinade:
1 ½ lbs (680g) boneless, skinless chicken breasts, sliced into thin strips
3 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp lime juice (freshly squeezed)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cumin
½ tsp smoked paprika
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp oregano
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
¼ tsp cayenne pepper (optional for extra spice)
For the Fajitas:
1 tbsp olive oil
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1 yellow bell pepper, sliced
1 medium onion, sliced
8 small flour tortillas (or corn tortillas)
Optional Toppings:
Sour cream
Guacamole
Salsa
Shredded cheese
Fresh cilantro

Instructions
1. Marinate the Chicken
In a large bowl, mix olive oil, lime juice, garlic, and all the spices.
Add the sliced chicken to the marinade and toss until evenly coated.
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to 2 hours for deeper flavor).
2. Cook the Chicken
Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
Add the marinated chicken and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is browned and cooked through.
Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.
