Easy Cheese Bread Recipe

Ingredients:

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 tbsp baking powder

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper (optional)

1 ½ cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese mix)

1 cup milk (whole preferred)

1 large egg

¼ cup olive oil

2 tbsp chopped chives or green onions (optional)

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven

to 350°F (175°C). Grease a  inch loaf pan or line with parchment paper.

2. Mix dry ingredients:

In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.

3. Add cheese:

Stir in shredded cheese and chives if using. Toss to coat cheese with flour mix.

4. Mix wet ingredients:

In another bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and olive oil

5. Combine:

Pour wet ingredients into dry, and stir gently until just combined. Do not over mix.

6. Bake:

Pour batter into the prepared pan. Bake for 45–50 minutes or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.

7. Cool:

Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Cheese options: Try mozzarella for gooey texture, gouda for a smoky flavor, or pepper jack for a kick.

Add-ins: Diced jalapenos, cooked bacon bits, or garlic powder.
