Creamy Spinach Recipe
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
500g (about 1 lb) fresh spinach (or 300g frozen spinach, thawed and drained)
1 cup heavy cream (or half-and-half for lighter version)
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Pinch of nutmeg (optional)
1 tablespoon cream cheese (optional, for extra creaminess)
Instructions:
Prep the spinach
If using fresh spinach, wash and roughly chop.
If using frozen spinach, thaw and squeeze out as much water as possible.
Sauté aromatics
In a large skillet or saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
Add the garlic (and onion if using), sauté for 2–3 minutes until soft and fragrant.
Cook the spinach
Add the spinach and cook until wilted (if fresh) or heated through (if frozen), about 3–5 minutes.
Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
Make it creamy
Lower the heat to medium-low.
Pour in the cream and stir well.
Add Parmesan, salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Let simmer gently for 3–4 minutes
Stir in cream cheese if using, until melted and smooth.
Taste and adjust
Taste and adjust seasoning.
Simmer until the sauce thickens to your desired consistency.
Serve
Serve warm as a side dish or topping over pasta, chicken, or baked potatoes.
