Bacon Cheddar Christmas Tree Bites

Bacon Cheddar Christmas Tree Bites

These warm, cheesy, savory bites are made using soft biscuit dough or puff pastry, stuffed with cheddar and crispy bacon, then arranged into a Christmas tree shape. They bake up golden, gooey inside, and perfect for Christmas parties, potlucks, or snack platters!

Prep: 12 minutes

Cook: 15–18 minutes

Total: 27–30 minutes

Ingredients

For the Filling

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup cooked crispy bacon pieces

2 tbsp cream cheese

1 tbsp chopped parsley or green onion

½ tsp garlic powder

Black pepper to taste

For the Dough

Option 1:

1 can biscuit dough (cut each biscuit into 2 pieces)

Option 2 (lighter/med-friendly):

1 sheet puff pastry, cut into 20 small squares

For Topping

2 tbsp melted butter

Pinch of garlic powder

Pinch of dried oregano or parsley

Extra cheddar for sprinkling

Instructions

1. Make the Cheddar-Bacon Filling

In a bowl, mix:

Cheddar

Bacon

Cream cheese (optional but makes it gooier)

Parsley/green onion

Garlic powder

Black pepper

Combine until evenly mixed.

2. Prepare the Dough Balls

If using biscuit dough:

Cut each biscuit into two pieces.

Flatten each piece slightly with your fingers.

If using puff pastry:

Cut the sheet into small squares.

Gently flatten each square.

3. Fill & Seal

Add ~1 teaspoon of filling to the center of each dough piece.

Fold edges up and pinch closed to form a ball.

Place seam side down.

4. Shape the Christmas Tree

Line a baking sheet with parchment.

Arrange the stuffed balls in a Christmas tree shape:

1 ball at the top

2 balls under it

3 balls under that

Continue until you reach 6 on the bottom row

Add 1–2 balls at the bottom to form the “trunk”

5. Bake

Preheat oven to 190°C (375°F) for biscuit dough OR 200°C (400°F) for puff pastry.

Brush tops with melted butter.

Bake 15–18 minutes until golden brown and puffed.

6. Finish & Serve

Brush the hot bites with remaining melted garlic butter.

Sprinkle extra cheddar or parsley if you like.

Serve warm — pull apart and enjoy!

Notes

Use turkey bacon for a lighter version.

Add 1 tbsp cream cheese for extra creamy bites.

Don’t overfill — cheese will leak out.

Biscuit dough = softer and fluffier

Puff pastry = crispier and flakier

Tips

Chill the filled dough balls for 10 minutes before baking for neat shapes.

You can add chopped jalapenos for a spicy twist.

Great to serve with ranch, garlic mayo, or marinara.
