Air Fryer Apple Hand Pies Recipe:
These Air Fryer Apple Hand Pies are portable and delicious! With an easy apple pie filling and flaky crust, they’re such a fun Fall dessert with no slicing and little mess.
Ingredients:
- Pie crust from Pillsbury
- Two to three apples, cut, peeled, and cored
- Three to four tablespoons of brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
- One teaspoon vanilla extract
- One teaspoon cornflour
- One teaspoon of water
- One egg
- One tablespoon of sugar
Instructions:
- Pie crusts should be unrolled on a flat surface or chopping board.
- Depending on how many pies you wish to create, prepare six tiny round crusts or more. Put aside.
- In a sauce pan, combine diced apples, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and vanilla essence. Simmer apples for three to four minutes over medium heat. Add a tsp cornstarch mix with a tsp of water into the pan to thicken the natural juice of the apples. Mix well and turn the heat off.
- Scoop apples on the centre of the pie crust then top.
- Arrange in the air fryer basket lined with parchment paper and cook at 350 F preheated air fryer for 6-8 minutes or until golden brown. Flip halfway through. Air fryer does vary so adjust time or temp if needed.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar on top and enjoy!
tips:
If the apple slices in the canned pie filling are large, just cut them in half before filling the mini pies. Other fruit pie fillings work equally well in this recipe.
