UTILITIES FOR RECIPE:

  1. 2 teaspoons of balsamic vinegar
  2. 8 ounces (227 grams) of ribeye steak
  3. One-tsp soy sauce
  4. One finely minced garlic clove
  5. One-tsp onion powder
  6. One medium carrot (approximately two ounces or 57 grams)
  7. A tiny potato, around 4 ounces or 113 grams, that has been peeled
  8. ¼ medium onion (57 grams, or approximately 2 ounces)
  9. ½ rib celery (28 grams, or about 1 ounce)
  10. 1 tablespoon olive oil
  11. 1 teaspoon tomato paste that has been double-concentrated
  12. 1 tablespoon red wine
  13. ½ cup heated beef bone broth (if using homemade broth, add salt and pepper)
  14. 1 tablespoon melted butter
  15. 5 tiny canned biscuits (optional)
  16. Cooking oil spray (optional, non-aerosol cooking spray)
  17. Grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for serving)

Instructions For Air Fryer Beef Stew Recipe:

  • Apply cooking spray to the basket or tray of your air fryer. Arrange the biscuits on your air fryer tray in a single, non-touching layer. Biscuits should be air-fried for 6 to 8 minutes at 325°F (163°C), carefully turning them over halfway through. Since they will be reheated in an air fryer later, you want them to be slightly underdone by about one minute.
  • Stir together the onion powder, garlic, soy sauce, and balsamic vinegar. Apply this blend onto the steak. If you don’t have much time, you can marinate the steak in the refrigerator or cook it immediately in the air fryer.
  • For ten minutes, air fried the steak at 400°F (200°C). If you have an air fryer oven, use the top rack position. After 3 minutes, check on the steak and continue air-frying for an additional 5 to 10 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to verify the doneness of the steak as you cook it to your preference.
  • Once the beef has finished air-frying, let it rest for ten minutes before slicing it into 1-inch (2.54 cm) cubes.
  • As the cooked beef cools, prepare the vegetables. Dice the potatoes, celery, onion, and carrots into ½-inch (1.27 cm) pieces. Combine with the oil.
  • The vegetables should be air-fried for 10 minutes at 375°F (190°C). If more time is required to soften them, add it. You’re not really trying to brown them.
  • For the stew gravy, whisk together the tomato paste, red wine, hot beef broth, xanthan gum, and thyme.
  • Combine the beef, vegetables, and gravy in a ramekin or baking pan that is ovenproof and fits inside your air fryer. Place the biscuits on top (if using), then drizzle with melted butter. Air fried for three to five minutes at 325°F (163°C). For those who own an air fryer oven, use the centre rack.)
  • Once the stew is finished, serve it with some grated Parmesan cheese on top, if you’d like.
