Air Fryer Jalapeno Slices

Air Fryer Jalapeno Slices

These crispy, spicy air fryer jalapeno slices are made in minutes and make for a healthy, easy snack. Serve them with your favorite dip, or as a crunchy side or topping for Mexican dishes.

Prep Time: 10 mins

Cook Time: 5 mins

Servings: 4

5 jalapenos

3 tablespoon breadcrumbs

1 egg

½ teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon garlic powder

Slice jalapenos into thin circles.

Crack an egg into a bowl, and whisk to combine.

In another bowl, add the breadcrumbs. Add any seasoning you’d like, such as paprika, garlic powder or taco seasoning.

Use a fork to dip the jalapeno slices one by one into the egg mixture, then into the breadcrumbs to coat them.

When all the jalapenos are prepared, preheat an air fryer to 200°C/390°F. Add the jalapenos, and air fry them for about 3-6 minutes*, shaking them once halfway through the cook time.

Serve the breaded air fryer jalapeno slices immediately while they are hot and crispy.

Your air fryer might cook the jalapeno slices faster or slower than the time suggested, so keep an eye on them. They are done when the breading is golden and crunchy.

Are these spicy?

Yes, as they are made with raw jalapenos they are quite spicy.

Is this recipe allergy friendly?

It is nut free, dairy free and soy free. Jalapeno slices are also vegetarian and suitable for many diets.

Can I use other types of chili?

Absolutely. Use any type of chili that you like and have available.

Leftover air fryer jalapeno slices can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a day. Keep in mind that the breading will slightly soften.

I highly recommend serving them immediately, while they are crispy and warm.

Serving suggestions

Breaded jalapeno slices are best served as a snack, preferably with a good dip like this homemade ranch dip.

I love adding this to a grazing table, or as a quick and easy part of a potluck or buffet. Alternatively, you can use these on a salad instead of croutons!
