AIR FRYER LOADED TACO FRIES

AIR FRYER LOADED TACO FRIES

Although Taco Bell’sTM Nacho Fries served as the original inspiration for our recipe for air fryer taco fries, we went a bit overboard and came up with something even better! Thanks to the air fryer, these taco fries aren’t quite identical to the original recipe, but they still have plenty of savoury nacho toppings and a tonne of Mexican spices. Add Old El PasoTM Original Taco Seasoning to sour cream and pour it over everything for our great trick for really simple spiced sour cream. Don’t worry, it’s tasty but not complicated. You should be ready to cook this recipe again soon because the air fryer taco fries become an instant hit with the crowd!

INGREDIENTS FOR AIR FRYER LOADED TACO FRIES

SOUR CREAM WITH SEASONING

  1. one-third cup sour cream
One teaspoon (6.25 oz) from a single container Original Taco Seasoning Mix by Old El PasoTM

FRIES TACO

  1. two tsp of vegetable oil
One tablespoon (6.25 oz) from a single container Original Taco Seasoning from Old El PasoTM. Combine
  2. 16 ounces (four cups) French fries (from a 32-oz bag) that are frozen
  3. One cup of Colby-Monterey shredded Four ounces of Jack cheese
  4. Pitted, peeled, and diced half of a medium avocado (1/2 cup)
  5. one-fourth cup chopped tomatoes
  6. Two tablespoons of thinly sliced onion (two green onions)
  7. two tablespoons of freshly chopped cilantro leaves

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Combine ingredients for Seasoned Sour Cream in a small bowl. Keep chilled and covered until you’re ready to serve.
  2. Combine 1 tablespoon of taco spice mix and oil in a large bowl. Add frozen potatoes and coat with a toss. Fill the air fryer basket with mixture. Preheat to 400°F. Cook, shaking the basket every 5 minutes, for 22 to 26 minutes, or until crispy.
  3. On a serving platter that can be microwaved, transfer. Add cheese on top. Heat, uncovered, in the microwave for 30 to 90 seconds, or until the cheese melts. Add avocado, tomato, cilantro, and green onions on top. Accompany with spiced sour cream.

Tips:

  • The temperature control settings for air fryers differ based on the model and brand. See your manual for recommended temperature settings if the recipe calls for a temperature that your air fryer does not have.
  • Give it a personal touch! Alternately, feel free to omit the cheese and toppings altogether and use alternate taco toppings. Simple taco fries are the ideal accompaniment to tacos, burritos, and other dishes.
  • Shaking is necessary for fries to be crispy. Food in the air fryer basket must be shook or flipped frequently because it cannot crisp through contact.
  • It’s not necessary to preheat your air fryer for our recipes. Simply adjust the temperature and get going. Never use parchment paper alone to preheat.
