air fryer seafood boil
Nothing like a classic Air Fryer Seafood Boil for a quick lunch or dinner. Today I added maize cooked in a classic butter sauce, prawns and lobster.
Ingredients:
- One whole cob of corn, cut in half
- Half a pound of frozen or fresh prawns
- Two halves of lobster tails, either fresh or frozen
- two tsp butter
- One tsp salt
- One tsp black pepper
- One teaspoon Cajun or Old Bay seasoning
Guidelines:
- Put the butter and seasonings in the Air Fryer Basket along with the seafood boil.
- For 8 to 10 minutes, set the air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Shaking the basket regularly while it cooks is crucial
- Plate, serve, and enjoy!
Tips:
An air-fried seafood boil substitutes the traditional approach with something crunchy and healthy. To make sure you get the most out of using an air fryer, consider the following expert advice:
- The Secret is to Prepare: Make sure every seafood is shelled, cleaned, and deveined as needed. To keep the seafood from steaming instead than frying, pat everything dry.
- Season Generously: A seafood boil is known for its flavorful spices. Coat your seafood with a mixture of seasonings like Old Bay, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, lemon zest, and cayenne pepper. Don’t be afraid to be generous!
- Prevent Overcrowding: To achieve the ideal crispy quality, make sure the air fryer basket is not overcrowded. Cooking in stages is preferable to putting everything on top at once.
- The air fryer should always be preheated for a few minutes before adding fish. This guarantees uniform cooking.
- Rotate & Shake: To guarantee consistent cooking and avoid sticking, rotate the seafood or shake the basket halfway during cooking.
- Keep an eye on Cooking Times: Seafoods require different cooking times. For example, prawns cook more quickly than lobster tails or crab legs. To avoid overcooking or undercooking, make sure you add or remove things according to their requirements.
- Add Vegetables: Don’t overlook the traditional side dishes that pair well with a boil of fish. You may air fry potatoes, sausage and corn. Just keep in mind to modify the cooking times appropriately.
- Serve with Dipping Sauce: Spicy remoulade or a rich garlic butter sauce will enhance the flavour. Simply melt some butter, stir in some minced garlic, lemon juice, and some of the seafood’s seasonings, and you’re done!
- Be Safe: To avoid cross-contamination, always wash your hands after handling raw seafood as well as any utensils or surfaces it may have come into contact with.
- Verify Doneness: Prior to serving, make sure that thicker cuts or larger seafood pieces are well cooked. In doubt, use a food thermometer.
- Serve Right Away: It’s ideal to eat seafood straight out of the fryer, while it’s hot and crispy—especially when it’s air-fried.
You’ll have an impressive, crunchy, and delicious air-fried seafood boil if you follow these expert suggestions!
