AIR FRYER STUFFED LOBSTER TAILS

AIR FRYER STUFFED LOBSTER TAILS

For a special event such as Valentine’s Day or date night, air fryer stuffed lobster tails are a must-have! A lump crab filling is placed inside cold water lobster tails, which are air-fried to perfection in just 7 minutes.

Recipe By: JULIE

Ingredients:

  1. 4-6 6-ounce butterflied lobster tails
  2. 1 pound of lump crab meat
  3. 1 egg
  4. 8 broken Ritz crackers
  5. 1 tsp dijon mustard
  6. 1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  7. 1 tsp old bay seasoning
  8. 1/2 lemon juiced
  9. 1/4 cup mayo
  10. 1 tbsp finely minced fresh parsley
  11. 1 grated garlic clove
  12. 3 tbsp melted unsalted butter
  13. pinch of salt

Directions:

  1. In a large bowl, combine the mayo, egg, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, old bay seasoning, parsley, lemon juice, and ritz crackers. Mix until well combined, then fold in the crab meat gently. Cover and refrigerate for 10 minutes.
  2. While the crab filling chills, butterfly the lobster tails. To butterfly, simply cut a lengthwise slit through the center, top of the shell, stopping just before the tail fins using kitchen shears. Spread the shell open and pull out the meat in one piece. Close the shell and place the meat over the shell.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, grated garlic, and a pinch of salt. Brush the lobster tails with the butter mixture. Be generous.
  4. Spoon about 1/2 cup of the crab filling on top of each lobster tail. Slightly shape the crab filling so it doesn’t fall off the lobster tails.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F for 5 minutes. Place the stuffed lobster tails in the air fryer basket and cook for 7-8 minutes or until the lobster meat is no longer translucent. Serve with lemon wedges and enjoy!
NOTES:
  • Because cold water lobster tails are much more sensitive than warm water lobster tails, I suggest using these instead.
  • Keep in mind that overcooking the lobster will result in rubbery meat and dry crab.
  • Feel free to make crab cakes or stuff more lobster tails with any leftover crab meat filling!
The crab stuffing may slip out if the air fryer is closed too forcefully.
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Arrange the stuffed lobster tails on a baking sheet and bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
