Grinch Punch

Grinch Punch

This Grinch Punch is a festive, bright green drink that brings a fun and whimsical touch to your holiday celebrations. Inspired by the classic Dr. Seuss character, this punch combines fruity flavors with a fizzy finish and a hint of sweetness. It’s perfect for Christmas parties, family gatherings, or any winter celebration. Make it non-alcoholic for a kid-friendly version, or add a splash of vodka or rum for an adult twist. Garnished with red candies or maraschino cherries, this drink is sure to be a hit!

Ingredients:

1 packet (0.13 oz) Lime Kool-Aid Mix (or any green drink mix)

1/2 cup granulated sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

4 cups pineapple juice (chilled)

4 cups lemon-lime soda (chilled, like Sprite or 7-Up)

2 cups lemonade (chilled)

Red sanding sugar (for rimming glasses)

Maraschino cherries (for garnish)

Ice cubes

Optional for Adults:

1 to 2 cups vodka or white rum

Instructions:

Prepare the Glasses:

Dip the rim of each glass into a little water, then dip it into red sanding sugar to coat the rim.

Mix the Punch:

In a large punch bowl, pitcher, or drink dispenser, combine the lime Kool-Aid mix and granulated sugar.

Add the pineapple juice and lemonade, stirring until the mix and sugar are completely dissolved.

Just before serving, add the lemon-lime soda and ice cubes. Stir gently to combine.

Garnish:

Serve each glass of punch with a maraschino cherry for that signature Grinch-y red pop.

Notes and Tips:

Make Ahead:

You can prepare the punch base (lime mix, sugar, pineapple juice, and lemonade) a few hours in advance. Keep it chilled and add the soda just before serving to maintain the fizz.

Color Adjustment:

If you want a brighter green color, add a few drops of green food coloring.

Sweetness Level:

Adjust the amount of sugar depending on how sweet you like your punch. The soda and pineapple juice are naturally sweet, so sugar is optional.

Garnish Ideas:

For added flair, you can float lime slices or scoops of lime sherbet on top of the punch.

Serving for a Crowd:

Double or triple the recipe for larger gatherings. Use a big punch bowl or beverage dispenser.

Kid-Friendly Fun:

Let kids help by adding cherries or stirring the punch. The Grinch theme makes it a hit with children!
