Cheddar Ranch Chicken Burgers
Ingredients:
For the chicken patties:
1 lb (450g) ground chicken
1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar chees
1/4 cup plain breadcrumbs (or crushed crackers)
2 tbsp ranch dressing (or 1 tbsp ranch seasoning mix)
1 egg
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: 1 green onion, finely chopped
For serving:
Burger buns (brioche or regular)
More shredded or sliced cheddar
Ranch dressing
Lettuce
Tomato slices
Pickles
Red onion slices
Instructions:
Mix the patty ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, cheddar cheese, breadcrumbs, ranch dressing (or seasoning), egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and green onions if using. Mix until just combined—don’t overmix.
Form patties
Shape the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties. They may be a bit sticky—wet your hands to help.
Cook the burgers
Grill: Preheat to medium heat. Cook burgers for 5–6 minutes per side or until internal temp hits 165°F (74°C).
Pan-fry: Heat 1 tbsp oil over medium heat. Cook for 5–6 minutes per side, covered, until cooked through and golden brown.
Add cheese (optional)
In the last minute of cooking, add a slice of cheddar on top of each patty and cover to melt.
Toast the buns
While the burgers finish, lightly toast your burger buns for extra flavor and texture.
Assemble
Add ranch dressing to the bun, then layer with lettuce, the cheddar ranch chicken patty, tomato, pickles, and onions.
Serve with:
Sweet potato fries
Coleslaw
Pickle spears
Corn on the cob
