Christmas Taco Cheese Ball Wreath

Christmas Taco Cheese Ball Wreath

Ingredients:
  1. 16 oz cream cheese, softened
  2. 8 oz shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  3. Half a packet of taco seasoning
  4. A handful of fresh cilantro leaves, stems removed
  5. 4 green onions, roughly chopped
  6. 4 oz can diced green chile peppers
  7. 1 medium Roma tomato, cored and diced
  8. 2 tbsp finely diced white onion
  9. 1 medium jalapeño pepper, seeded and finely chopped
INSTRUCTIONS
1: Prepare the Bowl
Line a 16-ounce bowl with plastic wrap, ensuring the edges drape over for easy removal. This step will shape the cheese ball and keep it mess-free during assembly.
2: Mix the Cheese Base
In a food processor, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded Monterey Jack cheese, and taco seasoning. Blend until smooth and creamy.
Add half of the cilantro leaves, green onions, and diced green chiles to the mix. Pulse lightly, ensuring the green flecks are evenly distributed without over-processing.
3: Shape the Wreath
Scoop the cheese mixture into the prepared bowl, pressing it down firmly to ensure a smooth, compact surface.
Cover the top of the mixture with the overhanging plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight. This chilling time allows the cheese ball to firm up for easier handling.
4: Create the Wreath Shape
Unwrap the chilled cheese mixture and carefully flip it onto a serving platter.
Use a shot glass, a cookie cutter, or the back of a spoon to press a hole in the center of the cheese ball, forming a ring or wreath shape. Smooth the edges with a spatula for a polished appearance.
5: Decorate the Wreath
Finely chop the remaining cilantro and sprinkle it evenly over the cheese ball to mimic the green foliage of a wreath.
In a separate bowl, mix the diced tomato, white onion, and jalapeño. Spoon this colorful mixture around the wreath to create a vibrant garnish that resembles holiday ornaments.
Optionally, add rosemary sprigs or small edible flowers around the base for added festive charm.
