3 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz / 400 g) crushed tomatoes (or tomato passata)

Pinch of red pepper flakes
Salt & black pepper, to taste
2 tbsp fresh basil, chopped
1 ball burrata cheese (about 4 oz), torn into pieces
Optional Garnish: Extra basil leaves, Parmesan shavings, drizzle of olive oil
Instructions
Cook Gnocchi → Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Cook gnocchi until they float (2–3 minutes). Drain and set aside.
Make Tomato Cream Sauce → Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Saute onion until soft, add garlic and cook 1 minute. Stir in crushed tomatoes, oregano, salt, pepper, and optional red pepper flakes. Simmer 10 minutes.
Add Cream & Cheese → Stir in heavy cream and Parmesan. Simmer gently for 2 minutes until silky.
Combine with Gnocchi → Add cooked gnocchi to the sauce, tossing to coat evenly. Stir in fresh basil.
Finish with Burrata → Transfer to serving bowls. Tear burrata over the hot gnocchi so it melts slightly. Drizzle with olive oil and garnish with more basil if desired.
Notes & Tips
For Extra Flavor → Stir in a spoonful of sun-dried tomato paste or pesto.
Make it Lighter → Use Greek yogurt instead of cream (stir off-heat).
Crispier Gnocchi Option → Pan-fry gnocchi in butter until golden before adding to sauce.
Add Veggies → Roasted zucchini, mushrooms, or spinach pair beautifully.
