DRAGON CHICKEN

DRAGON CHICKEN 

This is restaurant-style dragon chicken, where the chicken is deep-fried until it’s crispy and then mixed with a hot sauce that includes cashews and dry red chillies. Like my Sanchez chicken, this meal is a family favourite.

Cooking Time: 30 minutes

Overall Time: forty-five minutes

There are four servings.

 INGREDIENTS FOR DRAGON CHICKEN 

  1. 500 gram mes of boneless chicken breast sliced into thin strips
  2. Freshly chopped spring onions or coriander leaves for decoration
  3. Deep-frying oil
  4. Add 2 tsp Dark Soy Sauce
  5. 2 tbsp Chilli Garlic Paste
  6. 1 Egg
  7. ½ cup All-Purpose Flour
  8.  ¼ cup Corn Flour / Corn Starch
  9. 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  10. Salt to Taste
  11. 1 tsp black Pepper and optionally 1 tsp Ajinomoto / MSG for the marinade.
  12. 2 tablespoons oil
  13. 3 dried red chillies
  14. 2 tablespoons cashews

For Sauce:

  1. One large onion finely sliced
  2. One large bell pepper or capsicum
  3. One tablespoon ginger garlic paste
  4. One tablespoon chilli garlic paste
  5. Two tablespoons dark soy sauce
  6. One cup tomato ketchup
  7. salt to taste
  8. One tablespoon Ajinomoto / MSG optional
  9. Two tablespoons sugar

GUIDELINES FOR DRAGON CHICKEN 

  1. Place the chicken in a bowl and include all of the marinating components.
  2. After thoroughly mixing, let it sit for 15 minutes.
  3. Now preheat the deep fryer oil. The chicken should be dropped into the heated oil and fried until golden. After draining, set away.
  4. Now warm up some oil in a pan.
  5. Add the cashews and dry red chilli and cook until the cashews become golden brown.
  6. Add the bell peppers and onions now, and thoroughly toss in the oil.
  7. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for one minute.
  8. Add the red chilli paste, sugar, ajinomoto, soy sauce, and tomato ketchup now and stir thoroughly.
  9. Cook for a few minutes, or until the sauce thickens and the water evaporates.
  10. Add the fried chicken now, and thoroughly toss it in the sauce.
  11. Stir in finely chopped spring onions or coriander.
  12. serve hot and Enjoy!
