Candying walnuts: 10-12 minutes
Cooking shrimp: 2-3 minutes per side
Preparing honey sauce: 2-3 minutes
1 1/2 pounds large raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/4 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons Olive oil, divided
Thinly sliced green onions, for garnish
1/2 cup mayonnaise
3 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon sweetened condensed milk
Glazed Walnuts
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup water
1 cup walnut halves
To make the glazed walnuts, combine the granulated sugar and water in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves, then bring to a boil.
Add the walnut halves and cook for 2-3 minutes. Remove the walnuts with a slotted spoon and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet to cool.
Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels. In a large bowl, mix the cornstarch and salt. Toss the shrimp in the mixture until evenly coated
Heat 2 tablespoons of Olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the shrimp in batches, about 2 minutes per side, until golden and crispy.
Add more oil as needed for subsequent batches. Remove the cooked shrimp and set aside on a plate lined with paper towels
In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, honey, and sweetened condensed milk until smooth to make the sauce.
Toss the cooked shrimp in the sauce until evenly coated
Arrange the shrimp on a serving plate and top with the glazed walnuts. Garnish with thinly sliced green onions.
