Seafood Mac and Cheese

Crab, prawns and macaroni pasta are used in this recipe for Creamy Baked Seafood Mac and Cheese. This is the ideal, low-key cheesy casserole to complement any dish. For an extra taste boost, add Cajun and Old Bay seasoning!

Components:

  1. two cups of macaroni without water
  2. Claw Crab Meat, 6 oz.
  3. 8 ounces of peeled and deveined prawns
  4. Eight ounces of sour cream
  5. Four tablespoons of butter
  6. Two tablespoons of flour
  7. One spring onion
  8. One can of evaporated milk
  9. Sharp White Cheddar Cheese, 8 oz. block
  10. 4 oz. block Cheese Mozzarella
  11. Ponko Bread Crumbs, ¼ cup
  12. To taste, add salt and black pepper.

Directions:

  1. Turn the oven back up to 350°F.
  2. Peel and devein the prawns if needed.
  3. As directed on the package, cook the macaroni and make sure it’s completely drained.
  4. Toss the cooked macaroni and sour cream together in a big bowl until the noodles are well covered.
  5. Add the crab meat and stir.
  6. Finely chop the spring onion and reserve.
  7. Grate the mozzarella and white cheddar cheeses, then reserve them separately.
  8. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan and sauté the prawns until they are just cooked. After removing and allowing them to cool slightly, cut the prawns and add them to the macaroni mixture.
  9. Sprinkle the onions with flour, toss to coat, and heat for one minute or so, until the onions start to turn golden.
  10. Add the evaporated milk gradually while continuing to whisk the mixture until it thickens.
  11. Gradually include the grated cheddar, stirring continuously until it melts completely.
  12. After adding the cheese sauce to the macaroni and seafood mixture, thoroughly mix everything.
  13. To taste, add salt and pepper for seasoning.
  14. Spoon the mixture into a baking dish that has been greased.
  15. Add a layer of grated mozzarella cheese on top and then top with bread crumbs.
  16. Sprinkle a little paprika on top for some extra colour.
  17. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the top begins to softly brown, in a preheated oven.
