Air Fryer Cabbage Steaks
In less than 20 minutes, prepare these delicious Air Fryer Cabbage Steaks by slicing green cabbage, brushing it with olive oil and seasonings, and air-frying it until the outside becomes crispy and the interior becomes tender.
Cooking Air Fryer Cabbage Steaks is quick and simple, and the result is wonderfully crispy edges and a soft interior. In the recipe below, I used a few basic seasonings, but you can use whatever spice combination that you choose. This has a lot of versatility!
Try cooking this air fryer cabbage dish with extra garlic powder and top with Parmesan cheese before serving if you want to spice it up. You may also make this with chopped cabbage pieces or wedges; if you want to do the latter, simmer the dish for a little while longer.
Ingredients;
- medium-green cabbage with the outer leaves cut off
- One teaspoon of paprika
- 1/4 cup of extra virgin olive oil
- A half-teaspoon of garlic
- A half-teaspoon of onion powders
- A half-teaspoon of salt
- A half-teaspoon black pepper
Instructions;
- For five minutes, preheat the air fryer to 375°F. Thinly slice the cabbage to a thickness of 1 inch.
- Mix the oil and spices in a small bowl until thoroughly blended. Coat the cabbage slices on both sides with the spice blend.
- Fill the air fryer basket’s bottom with 1/4 cup of water. Making sure there is space between each slice, add the cabbage to the air fryer. Work may need to be done in batches.
- Air fried the cabbage for 10 to 12 minutes, turning it over halfway through with a spatula. When the cabbage is caramelised and fork-tender, it is done.

Storage: - Keep chilled for three to four days in an airtight container.
- For three to four months, freeze in an airtight container.
Cooking Tips:
- For added taste, try adding butter and crispy meat slices to the cooked cabbage.
- Working in batches might be necessary, depending on the size of your air fryer. To replenish any food that steamed off during the previous batch, add a small amount of water to the bottom of the air fryer basket before beginning a new one.
- If you skip preheating the air fryer, you’ll have to add a few minutes to the cook time.
- Instead of cutting the cabbage into steaks, you can also make cabbage wedges. The cabbage wedges should take about the same amount of time to cook.
